Alana is originally from Pointe-Claire, Québec. She is a litigation lawyer practicing in both official languages. Alana practices in the areas of general litigation (condominium law, family law, estate litigation and defamation). She has appeared before the Small Claims Court, Superior Court of Justice and Court of Appeal for Ontario. Alana is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) New Lawyers & Articling Students Summit Committee. In 2021, she was a panelist for the Advocacy Club’s Mental Health Panel “Being a Human Lawyer.”

Alana has developed a passion for supporting women in business. She has acted for businesses in the Ottawa- area navigating the pandemic. She reminds her clients that litigation requires studying the facts and the applicable law.

Prior to law school at the University of Ottawa, Common Law Section, Alana attended McGill University where she obtained her undergraduate degree. She also studied at the Università degli Studi di Salerno, in southern Italy, where she completed oral and written exams entirely in the Italian language. Alana speaks and writes fluent Italian. She is proudly part of the Italian Canadian community in her off hours and she enjoys long hikes with her dog.

Prior to joining Barnes Sammon LLP, Alana articled at a local boutique litigation firm. She also acquired international mining law experience when as an articling student, she assisted senior partners review contracts in both English and Spanish at the law firm Lahsen y Cia Abogados in Las Condes, Chile.
